I have adapted this name from the US Chess Federations system of having some adult tournaments provide points that are added together for bigger prizes. To be clear--this is not related to the US Chess Federations Grand Prix, but I wanted to tie the Weibel Fall tournaments into a group for further awards.

The following points will be awarded at the Weibel Fall Scholastic Quads (10/14, 11/4, 12/9):logo

First Place in a Quad = 25 points
3 wins = 30 points
2.5 pts = 25 points
2 pts = 20 points
1.5 pts = 15 points
1 pt = 10 points
.5 = 5 points

The individual(s) with the most points after the December 9 Quads will receive a much larger trophy than awarded at the single Quads plus a free entry to any three tournaments that Dr. Kirshner organizes.

Other large place trophies will be awarded for the next highest points received along with free entries into the CalNorth Youth Age Chess Championships on Sunday, January 27, 2019.

I hope to present these awards when all the games are completed on December 1. There will be three places in each of the two sections--Under 900 and Over 900.  This will avoid players from the Under 900 section from having to wait around for the results of the Over 900 section.  Players tied for places will win near identical awards. If trophies are not exactly the same size, the individual with the highest rating will obtain the larger trophy.
