  AWARDS:

A minimum of one trophy in each quad--four players arranged by ratings. We try to place individuals with close ratings and in the same grade together. We try to avoid pairing provisional players with those who have permanent ratings.  Adjustment may also be made so that  individuals from same school or club do not play each other as long as ratings are within 100 pts.  The most current listed rating will be used. At each of the tournaments anyone not winning a trophy will receive a chess medal. Grand Prix point winners will receive special larger trophies on December 12 + free entries to the Age Level Championships and for first place three Weibel Tournaments . There will be three Grand Prix places in both the Under 900 and over 900 divisions.  A minimum of three large trophies in each division will be awarded after all three events have been completed on December 12.  For example, if the highest amount of points is 165 then all those with 165 will get first place trophies.  If the second highest amount of points is 160, all those with 160 points will get second place awards.   If the third highest amount of points is 155, then all those with 155 points will get third place awards. All those getting the same amount of points will be counted as one place award.  For more information on what the Grand Prix is and how the points are awarded, go to: http://www.CalNorthYouthChess.org/Applications/FallQuads15-GP/GrandPrix.html
