CalNorth Youth Chess Scholarship Fund has a limited number of financial aid awards that we can provide for entry into the CalChess State Scholastic Championships, May 20 & 21, 2006.  To apply you need to send along with your application a letter from your principal or some other proof that you are on the school free lunch program.  For those who believe they lack resources to attend the States and are not on the free school lunch program, please send along with your application a copy of your parents, parent (if single parent family) or your guardian's most recent payroll stub.  Coaches, if you believe you have a number of children who need financial aid, please give Alan a call at (510) 659-0358 to see what arrangements can be made.

If you know people willing to supplement our financial aid program, please have them write their checks to SCS CalNorth Youth Chess Scholarship Fund, a federal non-profit 501 c 3 corporation.  The Financial Aid Committee that determines all awards consists of FM Bela Evans, Hans Poschmann and Alan Kirshner, Ph.D.
