Rounds will be at 9 AM, 11:00 AM, LUNCH, 1:00 PM, 2:45 PM with awards to follow. If there is a tie for first place in any grade we will have a blitz playoff (5 minute chess) for the first place trophy for that age. All those tying for first place will be declared CalNorth Girls Grade Champions. AWARDS: Five place trophies in each grade and in the open section. We will award trophies for all those who tie at fifth place. If any section/grade has an over-abundence of players, extra trophies will be awarded.   Those not winning a trophy will get a medal. The top academic school team in each grade, except Kindergarten, will obtain a trophy.  We will count the top three players from each school in each grade for team points. There will not be a team award in the Open division.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Players must compete in their own grade, however, pre-Kindergarten students may compete in the Kindergarten section. A special open section will exist for anyone with a U.S. Chess Federation over 900 and in grades k through 8. Awards in this section will not  be based upon grade level.  All girls who win or tie for first place will receive the title, CalNorth Girls Grade Level Champion.
