READS: Scores of Fremont youths from 4 to 18 attended the Scholastic Chess Tournament in San Leandro over the weekend. Most local students, vying for shiny trophies, are members of the Wisdom Chess Club or the Weibel Chess Team, such as Sharon Tseung (left). Tseung appeared on Channel 5 in 1998 for her chessplaying savvy--she was able to compete against 13 opponents at the same time at the age of 7.
