NEWS FLASH #2:  Weibel Chess becomes the first ever Fremont City Chess Champions in all three divisions. On February 27, 2010 the first ever Fremont City Chess Championship was held at Irvington High School.  Many Fremont schools had teams participating with the largest number of players coming from Mission San Jose Elementary School and Weibel Elementary School.  Both teams missed some key players, but  the competition remained intense. Weibel won the Team title in the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Novice divisions.  Daniel Ho and Justin Wang tied as Co-Champions in the Varsity section with Ishas Kekre become the City Champion in the Junior Varsity decision.  Weibel players Parsa Ganjooi and Jaden Wei had to settle for a tie in second place in the Novice section.
